Branjae is the birth child of classic Soul, Funk, and Gospel. A culmination of lyrical layers, melodic rhythms and dynamic theatrical performances, it is clear why she has developed a loyal following. Her voice is reminiscent of the likes of Lauryn Hill, Nina Simone, and Janelle Monae, while her stage presence reflects Tina Turner. She was born in the city of Motown and rooted in the place of the Gap Band and Leon Russell. She has established herself as a singer-songwriter and entertainer while winning awards like the Absolute Best of Tulsa voted by dedicated fans.
Branjae has developed a wealth of experience as an entertainer. She fronts the LOUD, FUNKY and opinionated funk band, Count Tutu. She has opened or collaborated Wayman Tisdale, Brain McKnight, Thundercat, Fishbone, NOLA’s Dirt Foot, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Nashville artist Alanna Royal and many more. Crafting her style and creating her own lane, Branjae gained notoriety in the midwest region , expanded her following to the south. She has also collaborated with London’s DJ circuit and gained international recognition in the United Kingdom with her song “Mystery”. She later gained national airplay with her soulful, heartfelt ballot, “Didn’t Know” off her debut album PowerSource.
